Carpyen

Light defines the identity and the personality of a room and the people inside more than any other element. Light reflects the atmosphere, expresses feelings and interprets activity, silence, happiness, unrest, sensuality, peace, movement.

The Spanish family business Carpyen was established in 1954 and started with the designs by Antonio Carpintero y Encamacián. After Roberto Carpintero entered the management in 1972 the company has been completely restructured. The cooperation with well-known designers, such as Pascual Salvador or Gabriel Teixidó, who were included in the design process of the lamps, lead to a sustainable success of Carpyen. Many of those lamps that were designed back then are still part of the product range today, such as the floor lamp Galilea, which in 1995 won the design award “Delta De Plata” in silver. Since the founding year of the Spanish group SIDI, Carpyen is a member as well. The aim of SIDI is to strengthen the links between producers, designers, customers, distributers and interior architects and to improve the conditions for product exhibitions.
