PO/9903 is a small artwork out of the Ronan Bouroullec feather. The Italian Company Cappellini produces the object that serves as vase and candlestick, as part of its collection Progetto Oggetto.
Ronan Bouroullec’s design to the PO/9903 describes a flat, square object with a surface that has nine openings in a slightly risen position. More an artwork than an utility object seems the clear and simple design alone as well as with more decoration: PO/9903 can be easily used as vase or as candlestick. The nine openings do thereby allow the free arrangement of the objects.
Cappellini manufactures PO/9903 out of white ceramic and offers a carefree elegance to the design. Because of its clear and easily accessible forms the Italian company included the object from Ronan Bouroullec into its Progetto Oggetto collection in 1999 and named it PO/9903.
The unusual name is a sort of serial number that identifies the product as part of the Progetto Oggetto collection. The abbreviation PO stands for Progetto Oggetto, the first two numbers for the design year, 1999 in this case.
Ronan (1971) and Erwan (1976) Bouroullec were both born in Quimper, France. The brothers worked together since 1999. Designer Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec
