The Kartio vases from Iittala emerge after an original design from the designer Kaj Franck from the year 1956. The vases consist of coloured glass. They are mouth-blown after the original technique.

For Kaj Franck the beauty laid in the functionality and simplicity. He wanted to avoid every unnecessary thing at the objects. These ideals coin the Kartio vases: they are reduced to the essentials and are introducible into existing furnishings without any problems.
