Conmoto - Fire Irons Wallset

"I concerned myself with the design of fire irons spontaneously, when Johannes Wagner asked me in 1997, if I would like that. I did, because until then I didn't find something for my own fireplace, which would accord my imagination. So I used until then a simple, wrought-iron poker. I really needed the good working wooden tong, which could grip, and this became the central originator of the new design."
In 2000 the series expanded: "A bellows was created of the neccessaty, that something like that only was available in many antique shapes". _{Peter Maly}

The whole fire irons convinces through its plain and timeless optic. The designer Perter Maly wanted the material combination of matt stainless steel and natural leather, that's why he used round countersinked bend leather bands as handle winding. On one hand as griping, haptic heat proof of the hand, on the other hand also especially because of the material esthetic of the natural material leather.

Design: Peter Maly

Peter Maly studied Interior Design at the Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences) in Detmold. In the 1960s he led the Interior Design team of the German magazine “Schöner Wohnen” (Beautiful Living). Since 1970 he has run his own Design Studio in H Designer Peter Maly
