Aalto Lantern

While many European designer glamourised the revolution of the mashines, they turned towards their scandinavian collegues of the nature. Alvar Aalto was a trendsetter with his organic shapes, just like the one of the famous Savoy Vase. The same natural shapes emerge in Aaltos works: In the wave-shaped walls of the Finish pavillons at the New Yorker World Trade Fair 1939, in the architecture of the Dusseldorf Schauspielhaus, in Sesseln, Spanish walls and tea trolleys.

Candle holders and wind light in one: Aalto Lantern by iittala picks up the subnatural wave-shape of Alvar Aalto and combines this with the selected materials glass and stainless steel. Aalto Lantern is a stylish decoration object, which can be used everywhere.
