Senz Umbrellas are the design winners against weather. Finally there is an umbrella that searches and finds its position in the wind at every time by itself, because of its aerodynamic form. Even by extremely windy days, this umbrella is comfortable to wear because it searches its position in the wind itself: it plays with the wind, instead of fighting it. Senz’s umbrellas offer protection from above’s flood until wind force 10, or nearly 100 km/h wind speed.

By the way: wind force 10 on the Beaufort-Scale means: trees are disrooted, logs break, garden furniture are blown away and bigger damages happen to houses. Why did it take centuries until steadfast umbrellas were invented? This is what a Dutch designer asked himself, after he came home totally wet: “We flew to the moon, but why isn’t there a decent umbrella on this planet?” As it is proper for a passionate designer, with friends form his Bruno Ninaber student times, he searched for a solution. They created the world success that we present in the German-speaking-area by now: the ultimative umbrella, smart, strong and stylish, with the especially good front view and without dangerous peaks because of its unique eye protectors. At the golf course the whole equipment has its place under the XL umbrella – on the street nearly the whole family!

It is not by accident that the Senz umbrella was nominated for the Dutch Design Award 2007 and for the German Design Award 2008. It already received the Red Dot Design Award 2007. The three designers Gerwin Hoogendoorn, Gerard Kool and Philip Hess continue working with the name Senz – we are now excited to know their new problem solutions.
