Piilo means “a place of concealment” in Finnish. Inside the bold and organic form there is a special space to put prized possessions such as heirloom cufflinks or engagement rings. Created by Giorgio Vigna, a renowned sculptor and jewellery designer, Piilo will protect and honour the treasures that are placed within it

Piilo boxes are casted aluminium alloy. Clear colour surface: palladium plating and black colour surface: ruthenium plating. Platings are nickel free.

Aluminium is a soft material and easily scratched. The plating will protect the aluminium from oxidizing and also scratches to a certain extent. To avoid extra scratching, do not put the box on top of hard, uneven surfaces.

Aluminium boxes cannot be placed in a dishwasher or used for heating. Hand-washing is possible with mild detergent. The boxes can be polished with a soft tissue. Any unnecessary polishing should be avoided, as the plating is rather thin. Grease (e.g. from fingers) should not be left unwashed for long time. Note! The boxes are not food adapted.

The inner felt cups in the smaller boxes are 100% wool. The wooled cup can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Rub gently and avoid strong circular movements. If there are stains, the cloth can be moistened with a mild wool detergent. the cup should not be soaked in water.
