When the big Danish designer Henning Koppel designed in 1978 his first world-famous watch, he broke an old watch tradition by replacing numbers with dots. Since then, this simple but obvious difference in the design inspired the watch collection of Georg Jensen which embodies the Scandinavian design and simplicity, connected with functionality and quality.
Along the 41 mm wide dial, there are elegant black or white dots instead of the usual. These enframe the three needles which count hours, minutes and seconds. The points stand in contrast to the optionally white or black dials on which the date is displayed. The dial is protected by sapphire glass.
The Koppel Chronograph is a mechanic watch, whose clockwork is automatically wound up by the body movements of the owner. Without this movement, it comes to time deviations or to a complete stop of the clock.
The Koppel Chronograph is made of stainless steel, has a black calfskin bracelet and alligator embossing which renders homage to the ones in Henning Koppels original design of the year 1978. Today, the automatic watch is a total design classic of Georg Jensen.
The famous Danish designer and sculptor Henning Koppel was born in Copenhagen in 1918. He counts to the most important Scandinavian designers of post-war times. Designer Henning Koppel
