When the big Danish designer Henning Koppel designed in 1978 his first world-famous watch, he broke an old watch tradition by replacing numbers with dots. Since then, this simple but obvious difference in the design inspired the watch collection of Georg Jensen which embodies the Scandinavian design and simplicity, connected with functionality and quality.
Along the 38 mm wide dial, there are elegant black or white dots instead of the usual numbers. These enframe the needles which count hours, minutes and seconds. On the right side of the dial is also shown the day of the month and on the top area is a 24-hour-advert. The colour of the dial, which is covered by a sapphire glass, can be choosen between black and white.
The Koppel chronograph is made of stainless steel with a black calfskin bracelet which is a homage to Henning Koppel's original design of the year 1978. Today, the automatic watch is a total design classic watch by Georg Jensen.
The famous Danish designer and sculptor Henning Koppel was born in Copenhagen in 1918. He counts to the most important Scandinavian designers of post-war times. Designer Henning Koppel
