When the great Danish designer Henning Koppel designed his first, world famous afterwards, watch in 1978, he broke an ancient tradition by substituting numbers by points. This simple, but unobtrusive difference in the design has influenced the Georg Jensen watches collection since then and embodies fundamental Scandinavian design and venturesome simplicity connected with functionality and quality.

Along the 32 mm wide dial, elegant black or white points appear there, where common numbers used to be and frame the three precision pointers that count hours, minutes and seconds. The points stand in contrast to optionally white or black dials that also display the date in the lower middle. The dial is protected by sapphire cover-glass.

The Koppel Watch 321, made out of stainless steel with a black calfskin bracelet, is a tribute to the Understatement in the original Henning Koppel design from 1978. An elegant, technically mature steel watch und without a doubt, an absolute design classic.

Henning Koppel was born in Copenhagen in 1918. Educated as a sculptor and designer at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he is perhaps one of the most important Scandinavian designers of the post-war-period. Since 1945, he worked for the renowned silv Designer Henning Koppel
