In cooperation with the Bauhaus Museum, Ole Flensted designed a mobile with his company Flensted Mobiles, that is being menat as an Homage to the Bauhaus era and the colour theory Wassily Kandinsky.
Primary forms and colours dominate the whole image: circle, square and triangle in red, blue and yellow. According to Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) certain colours should be assigned to certain forms. A blue colour mediates coolness, infinity and peace, this qualities connects it with the circle, which has the highest clamping force and elasticity since Kandinsky. The warm colour red is assigned to the square inspiring calmness and comfort. The triangle is therefore connected to a yellow colour, as it also spreads certain warmth, but can also have an eccentric and even aggressive effect.
With the Kandinsky colour theory in mind, Ole Flensted created a piece of floating lightness with the Bauhaus Mobile that furthermore values the psychological effects of colours and forms. Because of the confrontation of the different forms and colours, Bauhaus enthusiasts and mobile collectors can admire the effects and experience the Kandinsky studies of the phenomenon of colours themselves.
