Everybody knows it, the cheese knife from the Classic-Line made by the company Stelton. The cheese knife was developed and created by Peter Holmblad in 1979. People often tried to copy it, but they never succeeded regarding the simple linear design as well as the outstanding material processing.
Since the 1960’s the company Stelton has been aiming at producing high-quality table and serving utensils made of stainless steel. From then on, Stelton has been awarded several times with the Industry Prize from the Danish Society for Industrial Design. In addition, many Stelton products can be admired nowadays in museums, like e.g. in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the British Museum in London and the National Museum for Applied Arts in Munich.
With the aid of two taut steel wires, the Stelton cheese knife cuts soft cheese, which is often too squashy and sticky for the slicer, easily and without any effort in thick or slim slices.
The cheese knife consists of high-quality, mat polished stainless steel and is dishwasher-safe.
Peter Holmblad was the managing director and owner of Stelton till 2004 and together with Arne Jacobsen, he developed the Cylinda Line. Designer Peter Holmblad
