Marianne Britt Jørgensen and Rikke Hagen designed the can opener for Normann Copenhagen and interpreted this instrument that is used in every kitchen wholly new!

The classical form of the can opener has hardly changed in the course of time. Since decades, a peace of curved metal is used as a can opener all around the world.

Rikke Hagen quotation: “Every one of us uses a can opener in our kitchen-life, and when it is needed, it is hard to find. Now it has received a form and colour that enable that it won’t hide any longer between knives, forks and spoons. The handle from the can opener is similar to a wing nut in its function. It is equipped with a multigrip because everyone holds the handle on a different way. Our can opener is easy to recognize with its “Butterfly” design, but the idea originated from a working tool”.
