Not only at Christmas time, has the infatuating smell of roosted chestnuts made some of us stop in the middle of the street or on festival squares. Why not to have this pleasant scent in our homes?

However, the preparing does ask for a know-how handle: the sweet chestnut is heated on its beared face before it is roosted. But a flat, firm chestnut skin still lets knives slip away of it. This will end now, thanks to Jack, the chestnut fear. Because from now on, it will also work like this:

Do softly lay the tooth-knife blade from Jack on the curvature of the chestnut and carefully press it in it. The nut will remain unharmed, and the chestnut skin will crack at its perforated deepening just when it is heated on open fire or in the oven.
