"Is that plastic?" This question alludes on the appearance of the butterbox of Thorsten van Elten, because on the first sight it reminds of a good old plopperware.

Helen Johannessen designed the butter box and to make it short: No, it is no plastic. "Is that plastic?" is more a butter box, which reminds of a classic plopperware but which is made of strong crockery.

The Butter Box was inspired by the famous plastic version. This play with appearance and material of a well known shape is an expression of the design philosophy of Helen Johannessen and Yoyo Ceramics, who love it to play with conventions and to knock them on the head.

The design breeds at "Is that plastic?" a contrast between appearance and actual material and harbors a surprising effect. This makes the butter box to a funny accessory for the houshold, which is also exalted from its practical side.

The Butter Box can easily be filled and cleaned. At the same time its robustness caters for the safe stand of the butter and that it can easily be classified with the knife.

The Butter Box "Is that plastic?" is also available in mint green, blue and yellow. You can also order a the egg cupsand a small box in the four different colours.
