Refreshingly functional

The Seth-Andersson bowl and the corresponding salad servers were designed by Carina Seth-Andersson for Iittala in 1998.

Bold, minimalist design forms the central philosophy of Seth-Andersson, but always with an eye on practicality and function. The serving bowls are created from two layers of durable stainless steel, which envelop an insulating pocket of air between them. The result? Salads stay cool and fresh, and warm food stays warm.

This attitude towards common-sense practicality applies equally to the salad servers. The elongated elegance of the handles serves a purpose: to prevent them from slipping into the salad bowl.

Carved from high-quality birch, the wood is heat-treated for improved protection against moisture.
