Paul Voss is a metal devices designer that leads the artistic handicraft department of the Solingen University for metal design, after several years of work in the USA. It arose the acquaintance with Carl Pott, who was his student. Paul Voss introduced Carl Pott into the goals and thoughts from the Bauhaus and Werkbund.

In the time Model 20 has been introduced into the market (1951) it was a revolution. It represented a new cutlery generation: short blades, short fork-finish and a small oval spoon-form. Model 20 is an evergreen today. In the beginning of the 70es it entered the permanent collection from the Museum of Modern Art.
