With Modell 16, Carl Pott justified the classic Pott style in the year 1935.
Carl Pott was deeply convinced by the maxims of Werkbund and Bauhaus: the aim of all design efforts should be simplicity, usefulness and material suitability. Modern shaping was the principle that was reached with Modell 16 by Carl Pott. At his time it was an avant-garde cutlery- In Germany nearby unmerchantable.
The recognition for Modell 16 came from Paris: 1937 Carl Pott received the “Diplome D’Honneur” at the world exposition in Paris for his cutlery, the highest award that cutlery could reach at that time. And the recognition came from, for example from Haile Selassie from Ethiopia who equipped his own guards with Modell 16 from Pott.
More cutlery pieces of the Pott Modell 16 cutlery series are available.
