With the Knuckle candleholder, the designer Maarten Baas follows consequently his game of disharmony, transformations and industrial manufactured joints. As a hobby stonemason, the designer is interested in both asymmetry and individuality at the same time – to be different than the others is his demand. However, he became famous by experiments with forms and by the usage of resins, making them look like kneading mass. Not for nothing, the Design Miami Basel awarded him the Designer of the year 2009.
An original candlestick which is unique for many reasons: its arms are irregular and also empty it will catch every eye, since it is not directly recognizable that it is a candleholder – continuously ensuring conversations.
The design, which has been made by Maarten Baas in 2010 for the Italian manufacturer Skitsch, is available in two editions: out of glossy nickel-plated brass or out of polished aluminum. Four different candle-sized suit in the Knuckle candleholder.
