Wilkhahn designed this exceptionally slender and appealing chair especially for informal occasions.

For those places where a comfortable, relaxed, but professional atmosphere is required. Velas lets you sit at ease, but be ready to respond at the same time.

The design theme is based on steel tube, a material used since the era of classical modernism. Popular since the 1960s, the principle of a supporting metal frame structure with upholstered seats and backrests is interpreted in a distinctive design. The elegant foot section becomes a fluid transition of front legs, side sections and rear horizontal brace, creating an especially informal, but purposeful look.

The aluminium and steel foot section is either bright chromium-plated or powder coated. The fabric covers are available in different colours.

The subtle, pure, streamlined shape, combined with the light, extremely compact upholstery lend the chair a soft look. Or to put it in Eric Degenhardt, the designer's words: "The chair suggests rest and relaxation." The optional foot stool just enhances this sentiment. The side table is a perfect complement to the range.

The Velas lounge armchair is also available in the colours red, green, dark blue, dark brown and dark grey and with a coated frame. Additionally, a foot stool and a side table may be ordered.
