Jasper Morrison reinterpreted the classic bar stool with Pipe. Round forms characterize Pipe: The frame consists of aluminium rod and there are several spherical holes in the seat.
Pipe deals without great surfaces and connects several steel rods to a pleasantly weightless and modern design instead. The low backrest of Pipe can be used as carrying handle and the bar stool possesses a feet deposit between its seat and the floor. The stool gets its name out of this image: “Pipe” as “Rod”.
The pipe shape of this stool was transmitted to a whole products collection by the designer Jasper Morrison: Magis offers stools, chairs and tables with Morrison’s frame. The bar stool itself is vailable in two different sizes and editions.
Jasper Morrison was born in London in 1959, and graduated in Design at Kingston Polytechnic Design School, London (1979-82 BA(Des.) ) and The Royal College of Art for Post Graduate studies (1982-85 MA(Des.) RCA). In 1984 he studied at Berlin’s HdK on a Sc Designer Jasper Morrison
