In his constant trying to combine the sublimity with the absolute necessity, designed Poul Kjærholm 1957 Lawn Bed PK80. Kjærholm belongs besides Arne Jacobsen, Poul Henningsen, Verner Panton and Hans Wegner to the most important artists of the legendary danish design.

His Lawn Bed alreaedy made in the Museum of Modern Art in New York – as a piece of impression! Because of the large rebuilding of the MoMA between 2002 and 2004, carry large pieces of the interior the trademark Fritz Hansen. Because the Lawn Bed is really low– only 30 cm high - , did it have to get higher for the museum, but fulfils every form and design of the original.

PK80 is made of a large leather cushion, which lays on a painted plywood board. The base is made of satin brushed stainless steel.

Design: Poul Kjærholm

The Danish designer Designer Poul Kjærholm was born in 1929. As a learned cabnit maker did he study at the Applied Arts School in Copenhagen. Designer Poul Kjærholm
