Spinny

The roomy drawer furniture Spinny was created in the Studio Joe Colombo. Founded by Joe Colombo (1930 – 1971) and today led by Ignazia Favata, the studio is specialized in industrial design and interior design.

Spinny has five swivelable wheels on the bottom part which consists of varnished steel. The drawers in three different heights (6, 9 und 12 cm) are made of ABS-plastics.

Similar to the system of Joe Colombo’s trolley, the drawers can be spun 180 degrees around a bar which is placed in the bottom part. To stop the spinning of the drawers, they can easily be clasped in the aluminium structure of the trolley. Now, Spinny is not as flexible anymore.

Furthermore, Spinny is also available in a fixed version which is build-up to the wall. The necessary wall peg is delivered in this fixed version.

Cesare (named Joe) Colombo was born in Milan on July 30th in 1930. For a couple of years, the autodidact attended the Academy Brera and the Faculty for Architecture at the Politecnico in Milan. Designer Joe Colombo
