Zanotta - Sacco Beanbag

The Italian traditional manufacturer Zanotta has 12 products in his collection, which carry the title “Evergreen” –one of the exclusive members of the family is the beanbag Sacco, which was desgined by the designers Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini and Franco Teodoro in 1968.

Sacco is a real stylish piece of furniture, because it is the first beanbag of the world! The Italian designer became the idea to fill up the bags with styrofoam balls, while looking for a seat which fits the human body. This displays themself through an extreme flexibility, because of its light weight they where easy and low cost to develop. A innovative idea, which found its way into the world of the modern, young people really easy and fast.

Also after 40 years, the beanbag is still a very liked article - highly visible is the multitude of the plagiarism, out of which come some beautiful, and some not so beautiful samples – but Sacco, the original, is still inaccessible.

The compasso d’Oro (golden compasses) is the first design price which was awarded in Europe. The price is strongly focussed on Italian products: the items have to be produced by Italian Companies if the designer is foreign; or the designer has to be Itali Designpreis Compasso d´Oro
