The Mademoiselle rocking chair by Ilmari Tapiovara is an elegant design classic in the tradition of Finnish furniture design. Tapiovaara already designed the rocking chair in 1956. It is produced by the Finnish company Artek as part of the Tapiovaara Family Collection today.

Swinging chairs and Loungers have always been important pieces of furniture in the history of Finnish design. Ilmari Tapiovaara already designed numerous new-interpretations of this piece of furniture during his studies. Modern and appealing at the same time, and comfortable, the chair with the elegant name Mademoiselle especially became a Finnish design icon of the 1950es.

According to its name, Mademoiselle explains the filigree and elegant design of the Rocking Chair. The reduced design consists of slim and long forms that communicate appealingly. The Lounge Chair Mademoiselle simultaneously offers maximal functionality. Solid birch wood guarantees high stability and longetivity.
