The Lounge Chair Ray was one of the first furniture pieces which came in production by the design-blacksmiths Hay. And it is the first design for an armchair by Jakob Wagners. Inspiration for Ray was the ocean – its plain, elegant shape is the similar like from its namesake, the Ray.

The seating plate is wide, but it still seems really light, just like the fish is Ray thicker in the middle and becomes slender to the "wing tips". This is because of the soft springing which makes a nicer seating comfort. The overhanging of the seat makes it possible to put a magazine or plate next to you, or to just put your feet up.

With the harmony of shape and function Ray purport any direction, with which Hay became famous in the design scene: The perfect balance of Scandinavian tradition and modernism stand for the whole collection of the Danish manufacturer from Horsens.

Ray is also available as leather and hígh quality fabric covers are deliverable in other colours.
