The ISU instant shelving unit was designed by Alain Berteau fort he Belgian company Feld. ISU is a practical, folding shelf with a sophisticated appearance.

With only few twists, ISU changes from the second into the third dimension: for transport reasons or to save space, the ISU instant shelf can be folded and leaned against the wall as a flat panel. To assemble it, only unfold the laterals. The emerging shelf depth allows the insert of boards and offers simultaneously stability to ISU.

The Instant Shelving assembly does only take a few minutes and is possible without any tools. ISU can stand alone or in combination with more specimen as a whole shelf wall. Several ISU shelves connect at their laterals; making a shelves island possible.

The shelf is available in different editions. It consists of HPL coated plywood or also of plywood with oak veneer.

Design: Alain Berteau

Alain Berteau was born in Aachen in 1971 and studied architecture in Brussels before he founded his studio Alain Berteau in 2002. Designer Alain Berteau
