The Pedrera Side Table emerged in the middle of the 50es. Innovative in its expression and material at that time, today it is considered a classic. The through though and worked thorough design hasn’t lost any of its classic charm over the decades and it offers a simple atmosphere to modern furnishings and classic ensembles.
The design of the Pedrera side table was coined by the Spanish architect and designer Barba Corsini. He was asked to design apartments for the attic of the famous living building “La Pedrera” from Antonio Gudi in Barcelona, built by a real estate company in 1953.
Additionally, besides the 13 individual apartments that Corsini designed in succession for the Pedrera Building, he also designed the suitable lamps and furniture pieces. Part of that were the Pedrera Side Table as well as the Pedrera lamps that are altogether manufactured by the Gubi company today.
Thanks to the Pedrera project, Barba Corsini reached international recognition and his furniture advanced to become classics. The Pedrera side table is made by Guby with a frame out of matt lacquered steel and possesses an organic formed glass top.
Barba Corsini was born in the year 1916 in the Spanish city Tarragona and he died in the year 2008 in Barcelona. Corsinis father was an architect; for the young Corsini it was suggestible to begin architecture studies in Barcelona in the year 1932. Designer Barba Corsini
