Louis Poulsen - OJ Floor Lamp

The OJ floor lamp is characterized by its emphasis on the factual form-speaking, that reminds a little of a pictogram. The lamp spends a concentrated light and therefore it is ideal as a reading lamp. The height of the lamp was coordinated to the normal seat height of a back-rest chair. The designer Ole Jensen designed the OJ floor lamp as a part of his OJ lamp family for Louis Poulsen.

The voluminous screen from the OJ floor lamp captures the light to lead it through the opening. The light is pressed outside by a slightly comprised form at the screen opening at the surface and at the bottom, but never leaving the screen completely. The light surrounds the screen and it is transformed into soft with the fine eggshell structure of the surface. The surface captures the light eliminating the limit between the screen and the room.

The OJ floor lamp doesn’t prerequisite specific furnishings. It harmonizes with the newest design trends, but also with the classic environment. The aesthetical-puristic design suits every frame, whereas the white colour gives certain anonymity to the room; switched on and off the individual design marks of the lamp come forward.
