The simple shape of the reading lamp Elane and its noble effect are the expression of ingenious high performance: an extremely flat electric transformer works inside its thin socket, which seems to be floating. The light is spread diffuse laterally and directly up and downwards. The on and off switch as well as the step-less dimming are controllable by a button at the lamp’s head.
Elane’s slim arm with ninety degree bending is a micro-mechanic power wonder, since it remains exactly in the desired position thanks to the friction of its joints.
The German architect Jakob Timpe, founder of the design office js+o in Berlin created this timeless table lamp that unifies design and technique exceptionally. Elane is also available as table lamp with more arms.
Jakob Timpe studied architecture and was a fellow at the German academy Rom Villa Massimo. His studio jts+o studio in Berlin works together with namely institutions and companies. Designer Jakob Timpe
