The pendant lamp A 440 is the sister of the classic Golden Bell Pendant Lamp. Both products were designed by the Finnish designer and architect Alvar Aalto for the company Artek. Contrasting the Golden Bell, A 440 consists of velvet-matt opal glass. The spreading light passes the lamp’s shade accordingly soft and creates a pleasant atmosphere.
Designed in 1954, the pendant lamp A 440 can nearly be denominated new-interpretation of the Golden Bell out of the 1930es. Both lamps have something in common: their organic form with straight and flowing lines. The unobtrusive design also makes the A 440 pendant lamp a timeless classic.
The light of the lamp does softly border the velvet-matt glass shade and ensures pleasant atmosphere. The lampshade’s is open, so that below areas are accordingly illuminated.
A contact plug to be connected to the ceiling as well as a white plastic cable is included in the delivery package of the A 440 pendant lamp. Artek recommends an illuminant with an E27 socket and a performance of maximal 11 Watt.
