Bestlite presents another model of the famous Robert Dudley Best lamp. The classic and functionalistic design of the BL-series has been passed to a pendant lamp here, fulfilling the highest demands to form and function.

The BL9 pendant lamp does perfectly suit in every room and acts either elegant in the background or as direct eye-catcher in the middle of the room. The simple design of the BL lamps has been adapted to the demands of a pendant lamp at the BL9. This means that the design is even more reduced but not less classic and elegant. Because of the functionality and the characteristic design by Robert Dudley Best, it is easy to recognize the similarity of the BL9 to the rest of the lamps-family.

When Robert Dudley Best designed the BL series in the 1930es, they were revolutionary simple and had a clear and uncommon functional shape. With it they are still an example for the classic Bauhaus design. This has been reinforced by the tight contact of Robert Dudley Best with Dessau, Weimar and Berlin, the centers of the Bauhaus-lamps movement.

Even the twice British Prime Minister Winston Churchill had a BL1 lamp on his desk in Whitehall, and many architects and designers worked huge designs under the BL’s light.
