Goods - Zipp Pendant Lamp

The Zipp Pendant Lamp from Goods can be opened and closed with a zip closure. The zip is wriggled around the curved design of the lamp and offers its elegant, unmistakeable form to zip. The design was coined by Peter Traag.

The Zipp secret lies in the manufacturing: Zipp is cut out of one only stripe of PVC/cotton-laminate. On both sides of the stripe there is a sewed zip closure that enables the opening and closing of the lamp.

The pendant lamp Zipp stands exemplarily for the design base of its creator Peter Traag. The unusual look with the surprisingly simple zip closure mechanism is the result of Traag’s practical approach. The experiment with materials and tools is a central characteristic while the design process goes on. Instead of inserting his ideas an already existing process, Traag prefers to develop his own forms and methods.

The Zipp Pendant Lamp that emerged like that is manufactured by the Netherlands company Goods in the Pal West productions studio in Amsterdamm. It is available in a total of three different sizes.
