The pendant lamp Aircon was designed by Hugo Timmermans and Wilhelm van der Sluis for Luceplan. Aircon is a modern variant of the classic chandelier and is powered by three illuminants that spread direct and indirect light.
Luceplan manufactures Aircon out of polycarbonate. The lamp consists of two half-bowls. The upper half-sphere is opal; the lower one is available in orange or neutral. The lower sphere is polished and possesses a prismatic photo engraving , which enables a wide spread of the light that comes out of the three illuminants. Aircon spends direct light downwards while the lamp spreads indirect light upwards.
Aircon was initially designed by Hugo Timmermans and Willem van der Sluis as part of their lamps collection Greenlight. Some of the lamps of the multiple awarded collection were inserted in the Luceplan assortment.
Hugo Timmermans graduated in Industrial Design in 1992 and began soon designing and producing furniture in small collections. He founded together with Willem van der Slius the company “Customr” in the year 2001. Designer Hugo Timmermans
