This mini edition of the world famous design classic “Block Lamp” is always the selection of the hour, when one doesn’t want to renounce excellent design for space reasons.
Designed in the year 1996 by the Finnish designer Harri Koskinen, the Block Lamp is represented in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
Since the introduction of the block Lamp by the company Deisgn House Stockholm, the lamp has really been covered with design awards, such as the Excellent Swedish Design (1999), the Design Plus Award (1999) or the Best New Product on the Accent Show in New York (1999), to only name a few.
The Block Lamp consists of hand made clear glass, produced in a sophisticated cooling process that offers the typical illusionary appeal of a huge ice cube to the lamp. Both glass halves surround the illuminant (E 12 – 230V/15W) and ensure a moody illumination on the table or as floor illumination in the corridor or the living room. Optionally also there is a wall fixture out of lacquered iron available for the Block Lamp, making the lamp an exceptional wall lamp.
Because of the 10th anniversary, the Design House Stockholm published the lamp with different coloured textile covered electric cables.
The illuminant is included in the delivery package!
Furniture and design objects by the 1970 in Karstula born Koskinen are interesting for the international market, over the borders of Finland, since a long time. Designer Harri Koskinen
