The Wagenfeld Lamp counts to the most famous lamps of the Bauhaus era. The ancient variant of the world famous lamp was designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900-1990) in the year 1924. The WG25 possesses a galvanized rod and a glass foot.
Wilhelm Wagenfeld has been entered as journeyman in the world famous Bauhaus-workshop after he finished his apprenticeship in a silverware factory and visited a drawing academy, creating his classic lamp then, also known as Wagenfeld Lamp or Bauhaus Lamp. With his designs out of metal and glass, Wagenfeld became on of the most important industrial designers at that time.
The W lamp from Wilhelm Wagenfeld is available in numerous editions. The WG25 lamp possesses the typical opal-coloured glass cupola. The foot of the lamp is made out of glass, the tube out of galvanized metal.
The Wagenfeld lamp is manufactured after the original Wilhelm Wagenfeld dimensions and materials by the company Tecnolumen. Tecnolumen produces the only copyright protected and authorized reedition of the Wagenfeld lamp. All lamps do therefore wear the Bauhaus and Tecnolumen sign.
