"All useful things must be attractive, otherwise they don't fulfil their purpose". Working with and for Fürstenberg in 1934, Wilhelm Wagenfeld followed this principle to develop the clear, clean lines of this form, which was awarded the gold medal at the world's fair in Paris three years later.
It became known under the name “Service 639” and it still poses a milestone in the development of tableware.
Further parts of the Fürstenberg Wagenfeld Tea Service 639 are available, such as tea pot, teapot warmer, cake plates or the three-part or 21-part service set.
