The designer Christophe de la Fontaine shaped an embossing complete program for the Rosenthal Studio Line with Format. The products are leaned on the design of the 50es and 60es, but exaggerate this one for an individual and distinctive shaping.

Basic forms out of architecture such as cylinders and cones are connected to a completely new dishes service in Format. The proportions of the single products are perfectly balanced and that is why Format doesn’t only convince with its design, but also with its function.

The cups are stackable and also the bowls are compatible so that they can be stored easily and space saving inside of each other. The extremely thin wall strength and the perfect work out of each article are a special quality characteristic of Rosenthal.

The interesting thing at Format is, that it makes it possible to construct a very clear but still extremely versatile service without using unnecessary decorations.

”Form-complete and refined on the single articles, it allows to offer a contrast-rich as well as embossing impression without falling into the monotony of minimalism”, said Christophe de la Fontaine about his design for Rosenthal. ”The liberty consists in the apparently infinite possibilities of this form type, which is based on the simple change between diameter and alignment of the single segments inside of a ground corpus.”
