Georg Jensen - Quack Serving Jug

“The shape should release emotions and tell stories“ says Maria Berntsen, the designer of the serving jug “Quack” for Georg Jensen. Her basic aim was to create a compact serving jug that rests on the table. With this attitude towards design, she started designing “Quack”, the serving jug with the astonishingly “different” expression. Nozzle and handle of the jug are made of bronze-coloured aluminium, whereas it body consists of buff synthetics. Unlike other serving jugs , “Quack” doesn’t have a glass insert, therefore it is almost unbreakable. Furthermore, Quack keeps hot beverages warm form approx. 2 h.

The jug “Quack” has a refreshing look. It enriches the table and is worth a narration, which means a lot for a household utensil. “Quack” combines an everyday kitchen object with an extraordinary character, an easy handling and beautiful, round, organic shapes. A new innovative production technique was developed at Georg Jensen’s company in order to produce this special flask.

“Quack” has a capacity of 0.9 litres and has already been awarded the Red Dot Design Award.

Please note that „Quack“ is a serving jug and that it will only keep hot drinks „warm“ for a short while. Contrasting an insulated flask, the ground of a serving jug might become very hot when it is filled with hot drinks.
