Watch the moon from above.
Moon is a bowl full of holes, that breaks all the rules and that pushes out every boring habit.
It is an example of not always doing what one has to do, what one is habituated to, but of challenging the conventional thoughts and of cultivating the aesthetical sense.
The designer Matthias Demacker got the inspiration for Moon while he experimented with different models and had the idea of breaking the rules: like the Moon surface that consists of many holes and has an irregular pattern and that casts graphical shadows.
Matthias Demacker explains:
“I have played with a loose combination of holes. The idea was to create a pattern without a pattern’s regularity. The idea for moon came after I have been moving different holes during the a whole day, trying to reach a regular pattern. That is when I spontaneously came to a bowl, practically out of no nothing.”
Moon is a bowl with a touch of humour that looks great on a table, in the living room or in the kitchen. It can serve as magazine or newspaper holder. It is simply cleanable with a humid cloth.
Since 2003 Matthias Demacker is independent with his own design studio. His aim is to achieve his own concepts. Special products emerge that would be impossible otherwise. Designer Matthias Demacker
