Buenos Aires – eight pushcarts stand in front of a hotel entrance. I Think: could this simple object not move inside? In the taxi the idea becomes a shape, at home I instantly ran to my working desk. Out of the pushcart emerged a mobile side table with a three-floor shelf – made out of a single bleach panel, explained designer Christoph Böninger about the emerging of a books cart.
The book cart consists of four elements: two wooden spars, the bleach for the shelving construction, the wheels and on the back a leather cross so that nothing falls out of it during the transport. Four forms, two colours.
That’s all. Honored with the iF Award 2010.
Christoph Böninger studied Industrial Design and Environmental Design in Munich and Los Angeles. In 1982 he designed the first laptop PC in the world as his diploma, which is displayed today in the Neue Sammlung, Munich. Designer Christoph Böninger
