Ilmari Tapiovaara designed the Tale Stool in 1953 – a design object which carries the typical signature of its creator. Straight lines meet soft round forms and swung elements for the exciting and unique design of the stool. The Tale Stool is produced by the Finnish manufacturer Artek as part of the Tapiovaara Family Collection today.
The seat of the three-leg Tale Stool lies on the frame as if it was a bowl and it offers a pleasant seat comfort with its lowered shape. If the Tale Stool isn’t used as seat furniture, it acts as a special deisgn highlight in every living room furnishing.
Made out of birch wood, Artek offers the stool in a completely black, stained edition. The seat is also available out of bright walnut veneer as an alternative.
llmari Tapiovaara was one of the greatest interior architects and designers of his era. With the mind of an explorer and a soul of a craftsman, Tapiovaara was always seeking for new solutions to improve everyday objects. Designer Ilmari Tapiovaara
