Hay Plopp Stool

The stool Plopp was designed by the Polish designer Oskar Zieta and is on its way to become a design classic. Best proof: Plopp won the famous German Red Dot Design Prize in 2008, hos unusual optic results out of its unusual production method.

The design-Newcomer Zieta started to experiment with the Material seeling while studying in Zurich (before he studied architecture in Stettin) and developed its „FiDU-Technology“ (Freie Innendruck Umformung), in whcih furniture is ceated and in which the material (two identical, welded together steelings) is blown up with air under internal pressure. Because of that the this steel plates enlarge in the thought shape.

The stool stands on three legs and has a hole in the middle of the seating plate and in fact it looks like blown up – but Plopp is really strong, because of its stabilityof the material steel. As result of the innvative production method not product looks like another, because every deformation of the steeling is controllable. So at the end every customer gets his/her own personal - a special attraction, which became an exaption in the mass production.
