Assembled as bench or also divided – the stool named “Schemel” convinces through its simple and minimalist appearance and bribes with high functionality. The design from the footstool was coined by the Studio taschide company.

Schemel is manufactured by the Caritas Wendelstein workshop in Rosenheim/Raubling for side by side. Schemel consists of untreated oak wood. The German company side by side stands for cole cooperation between designers and handicapped people, just “side by side”.

“Design with social character” was founded by the product designer Sabine Meyer in the year 2002 and brought to the market with the Caritas Wendelstein workshop. Meanwhile more than 30 designers, including the multiple prize honoured fpm München agency, create high quality and form pretty living accessories for the daily use. That is how side by side enables social integration to handicapped people as well as participation at professional works.
