The Mezzadro Stool is a design-classic of the brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni.
Already in 1957 they preented the world a first prototype of their stool, which is manufacturered by Zanotta since 1970.
The seat of this unusual pendant is a simple tractor seat, which the designers set on a wing screw on a bended steell construction. As another pier, the cnstruction acts as foot out of wood.
Every of the parts has a carrying function and nothing on Mezzadro is unnecessary. The design is also outstanding and innovative and draws a bow to the artistic sculpture.
Mezzadro reckoned with the stool Sella, for which the brothers Castiglioni converted a bicycle saddle into a seat, as most extreme design of the creative team. It is perfect and fantasyful symbiosis of shape and function and reckonedes as an exemplaric sample of the so-clled Radical Designs, a streaming of the Italian design, which seceded itself in the 60s- and 70s- of the 20. century by the doctrine of the functionalism and the famous style - incarnated in Italy through the Bel Design.
The Mezzadro Stool by Zanotta is also available in the colours alu, orange, yellow, white and black.
