The Wooden Radio Mini is the small variant of the popular Wooden Radio from Magno. Every radio is a 16 hours hand-crafted unicum. It is directly produced in Indonesia under ecological and fair conditions.

The sound of the small radio is pure and complete through the used radio receiver and the special adapted wood. Only local wood from planting cultivations is used as material. The bright parts of the Wooden Radios are made out of pine wood; the dark ones consist of East-Indian rosewood. Especially the East-Indian rosewood has already proved itself in the sound-corpus manufacture: numerous instruments like guitars and flutes are made with it.

The Wooden Radio Mini is adapted to receive VHF frequencies. It runs with two commercial available batteries type AA. For maintenance we suggest to rub a drop of teak or pine oil from time to time into the radio. To prove its uniqueness, every Wooden Radio has a continuous manufacture number as well as the month and the year it has been produced.

The designer of the Wooden Radio is Singgih Susilo Kartono. During his production-design studies in Bandung/Indonesia he developed the shapely ground lines and afterwards realized the ideas through new working and productions methods.

He works with 30 young wood-craftsmen in his home town Temanggung in a separated region from Middle-Java. His business ensures the incomes of many families and offers working perspectives to many young employees under fair social conditions.

Please note that every Wooden Radio Mini is totally handmade in the designer’s workshop. Marginal appearance differences are therefore possible.
