Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen Description

Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen is an experienced design company with focus on the design of furniture and products as well as consulting.

The vision in our work with design and consulting, is to create values with long duration, that stimulates a healthy development for people and their surroundings. The work is based on high standards of cooperation, process and product, where knowledge and innovation are basal resources.

The company adresses itself to clients who wish to work with design as a fundamental strategy, which realises the value of an extern consulting designer, in a close and confendential cooperation with a high level of integrity.

Johannes Foersom was born 3 september 1947. He made an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker with Gustav Berthelsen: 1964 – 69. He visited the College of Arts and Crafts, Furniture Department: 1969 – 72, afterwards he was Furniture designer and interior designer for various design firms in Copenhagen: 1972 - 77. Collaborated with, among others, Ivan Schlecter: 1972 - 77. Part-time teacher at The Design School of Art and Design, Textile design: 1972 -80. Part-time teacher at The Danish School of Art and Design, Furniture Design: 1980 - 95. Independent design company together with Peter Hiort-Lorenzen: 1977 - Committee member in ministry of education, committee to revision of the designeducations: 1983 - 85. Employed as part-time teacher at the Furnitureschool S.B.F. 1980 - 95. Member of the board in Danish Designers MDD: 1998 - 2003.
