Kerttu Nurminen Description

Kerttu Nurminen was born in 1943 in Finland. She worked over 20 years in the Nuutajärvi Glass Factory and is by now active as artist for 30 years.

Kerttu Nurminen is known for her unique glass designs in combination with functional objects. Because she got in touch with the method of glass processing at her schooling, she became active in the creation of new methods.

Kerttu Nurminens breakthrough occured in 1988 when she designed the Glass series Mondo for Iittala.

By now her works can be found in different collections and museums all over the world.
