Friendship was at the start of the °es label (like »it« in English and »ça« in French). Franziska Ermert, photographer, her sister Stefania, a lingusit, and David Caspar Schäfer, a designer and metalworker by training and onetime founder of the MIR studio used to meet every year at the Milan Furniture Fair. In the meantime Stefania became David's wife and in 2005 the couple founded together with Franziska °es. It‘s from a permanent exchange of ideas within the family (°es also combines the initials of the two surnames) that various designs continue to result. Since 2008 distribute in addition to their own collection dovetusai and Flat Flowers.

To sell their own designs, did the three open a shop in Dusseldorf. Since the first presentation inside of the the [d3] forum of the imm 2006 in Cologne are the products also sold to international agents.
