Auerberg – Radically subjective

Furniture and accessories by designers for designers

The brand: Independent

For the Auerberg brand, internationally renowned designers and architects design products far from traditional marketing logic. Modelled on the concept of a publishing company, Auerberg in its product philosophy does not follow any predetermined program. Only the target audience is clearly defined: Auerberg is aimed at people that are delighted by authentic objects and their histories. In low and very low volume series, Auerberg offers market access for these products.

The products:

radically subjective Exceptional designers create products for Auerberg that are full of identity and radically subjective, only following their own motives. They create products which would have no chance according to common market research and marketing logic. Independent from industrial measures, the designers work along the borders of what is feasible, to persue new paths in form, function or materiality.

The personal history behind the product makes it authentic, unmistakable and covetous - for all those who attribute a special significance to the objects of daily live. The designers:

individual experiences Renowned designers and architects were inspired by the Auerberg idea. Everyone was especially attracted by the open work on the interface between tradition and innovation. To be able to reinterpret a familiar product in form and function and to develop it further through their own experiences creates a strong motivation;

since the opportunity of continuing a dialogue all the way to the user does not often arise for the designer.

In addition to designers and architects Herbert Schultes, Alfredo Häberli, Fritz Frenkler, Emanuela Frattini-Magnusson and James Irvine, Tobias Grau, Daniele Dalla Pellegrina and initiator Christoph Böninger belong to the Group of the Auerberg designers. The Auerberg collection: Every spring and autumn the Auerberg collection is presented in the catalogue with themed focal points.The first collection presented the two focal points books and table culture.The manufacturing takes place mainly in small businesses in south Germany, not far from Auerberg.
